I'm running the London Marathon 2026 in support of the Buffy Younger Impact Fund.

The Buffy Younger Impact Fund was set up in memory of Buffy who died due to aplastic anaemia, a rare form of bone marrow failure.

The Buffy Younger Impact Fund is dedicated to improving treatment for aplastic anaemia by enabling research and clinical advancement, so that in the future no-one has to lose someone they love to this condition.

In Autumn 2024, The Aplastic Anaemia Trust assembled clinicians from around the UK, and some from around the world, to put their heads together and discuss what our priorities should be in the medium to long term, to deliver real impact for patients. The charity has now published a Research Paper to define these priorities.

The paper includes some ambitious investment opportunities designed to secure the future of aplastic anaemia research and transform our understanding of the condition.

Buffy's Fund is about providing seed funding for some of these big research priorities, and enabling this small charity - the only one for people affected by aplastic anaemia in the UK - to punch above their weight and make big things happen.

By raising funds to specifically fund the opportunities identified by these experts - we will secure a long-lasting legacy for Buffy.
